I definately think the FXO GTR suits my style the best, I've driven the other GTR cars, and I've become proficient (read, mediocre) with the FZ50 GTR, but I simply enjoy the FXR the most. I like the way it looks, sounds and drives.
I don't want to be forced to drive a car that I don't prefer simply because "That's what you need to do to win." Sure, that's the way it is now, and sure I can race with any of the GTR cars, but that doesn't mean it's right.
Also, as many have said, the FXO GTR is easiest to drive, I'll agree with that, in the sense that you're the least likely to simply lose the tail and spin out while racing, but I also think it's challenging and rewarding in it's own way. I don't think it should be slower just because you can correct slides easier than the other two cars. As has been said before, at the top levels, ease of driving means nothing, a good driver can be consistent no matter what car they are driving.
You can call me biased if you like, since I drive the FXR the majority of the time. I guess that is true, as I'd like to have more of a chance of winning with the car I currently enjoy. That being said, I have loads of fun with the GTR class as it is right now
Does anyone know how replays in the Papyrus sims work? They have the best replay controls of any sim out there. Play, pause, rewind, fast forward, frame advance and reverse, and the ability to cut just a portion of the replay. Even if this requires much more space, I think these type of controls would be worth it.
As a demo racer, you know nothing about the unbalanced car classes. At blackwood, the XR and the XF are pretty close to even, and the XRT is in a class of it's own.
I'd love to see one of these here in the United States, but even if there was as much interest in LFS as there in in the U.K., transportation is a big problem, the U.S. is simply a lot bigger, and I think the cost of going to a LAN even would be prohibitive for most gamers. I've thought the same thing about a Karting event here, while it would be a lot of fun, I doubt most LFSers are going to be buying a plane ticket just of a day of karting. To quip a line from Australia, it's the tyranny of distance.
Wheels are the biggest thing that always bugs me about rFactor, they look like they came of a low end game from 5 years ago. Even the ad picture of the new BMW F1 car for rFactor had me thinking, "wow, that looks bad" even though the model is very good, it's the wheels that bring it down. Other than that, having not played it, I can't pass judgement.
LOL! I never said anything because I just automatically assumed that they would be turned back on. I'm guessing most other people thought the same thing.
Am I the only one who finds it's funny that Scawen says that it's impossible that it's coming from his part of the game, and Victor is saying it's impossible that it's coming from his part of the game? Clearly Eric is at fault then
It's no screamer, but it's my dad's computer and all he does is photoshop really, so it's fine. I was just wondering if it's a total P.O.S. and needed replacing, but it seems to be doing okay. Thanks for the responses though
